Dr Vijay Sadasivam completed his MBBS from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Coimbatore in 1996 as the best outgoing student. He joined DMRD at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1997. On completing his Post Graduation he joined as a DNB Resident at KG Hospital, Coimbatore in 1999 under the auspices of the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. On completing his DNB (Radiodiagnosis), he continued as Registrar in the Department of Radiology in KG Hospital, Coimbatore from January 2001 to May 2005 where he also supervised the Radiology Post-Graduate residency programme. He has been a full-time Consultant Radiologist at SKS Hospital since May 2005.

He has played a pioneering role in developing and running Salem regions first Whole Body Multislice CT from 2005 to 2009, and the regions only 128-slice cardiac CT from 2009 onwards. He has also contributed to the development of our institutions indigenously developed PACS and Teleradiology systems (in conjunction with our sister concern, Raster Images).

He is now the Head of the Department, supervising a team of Radiologists working under him. His personal interests and areas of specialisation are Cardiac and Whole Body CT, Vascular Ultrasonography, Radiology Education, Teleradiology and CT-guided interventions including chronic pain management.
