Dr R Shinika is a passionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She works with the vision to promote and protect mental health of children and adolescents.
She underwent her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore.
She has more than 6 years of experience in working with children and adolescents.
She was instrumental in developing the whole Psychiatry Unit including Child Development Unit at Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore.

Proud to have initiated Life Skills training programme at Glazebrooke School, Salem. First session was with teachers on Identification of mental health issues in children!
Interactive session with Parents on the topic of “Parenting in Digital Era” and Introduction of Life Skills Education for Adolescents at Gayathri Matric School, Salem.
Session on ‘Identification of Mental health problems among children ‘ for teachers at Shri Vidhya Mandir School, Salem.
Life Skills training programme for X to XII boys at St. Paul’s school, Salem. Discussed about the topic ‘Coping with Stress’. Students showed lot of enthusiasm and interest in this activity. And group discussion post activity was also encouraged by giving pens to spokesperson!
Session was conducted on the topic of “Coping with Stress”for class XI and XII teens at Equitus Gurukul Matric School, Salem.
Life Skills Training program for class 12 students at Shri Vidya Mandir school, Rasipuram. The topic discussed was “Coping with Stress along with saying no to Suicide”! The event was organised as a part of our World Suicide Prevention day programme!
Parenting workshop : We are delighted to have started our Parenting workshop. Our first workshop was conducted at Vriksha Montessori International school, Salem. Positive parenting approaches along with behaviour therapy strategies were discussed.
