Dr R Shinika is a passionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. She works with the vision to promote and protect mental health of children and adolescents.
She underwent her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore.
She has more than 6 years of experience in working with children and adolescents.
She was instrumental in developing the whole Psychiatry Unit including Child Development Unit at Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore.

  • Identification and management of various Neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Adolescent depression
  • Parenting program
  • Life skills training in children and adolescent

Vision – Future plans:

  • To establish Child Development Centre (CDC) at SKS Hospital.
  • To initiate Life Skills training program for children and adolescents at schools.

  1. 2021/3-2023/4 : Team Lead – Department of Psychiatry, Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore
    Established the Psychiatry Department along with Psychiatry Assessments and modified ECT room.
    Designed and established the Child Development Unit at Naruvi.
    Designed a 3-month Early Intervention program for children with Autism/ADHD/Development delays.
    Had organized and headed Mental Health Awareness Programs at Naruvi.
    Actively conducted three Hindu Webinars collaborating with other
    medical teams at Naruvi.
